thanks for sharing the latest iso of Zorin OS Pro
There is a minimal installation option vs the full version since it's indeed kinda heavy tbh.Is their a way to get zorin 17 pro lite for people running servers that need minimal install. it also uses xfce instead of Gnome.
SAMBA file sharing is available on this OS (even comes pre-installed to do so, I think) & yes you can run it on a network via hardwire or wifi with supported drivers if that's what you're trying to do. It can run on both physical & virtualized hardware too & has the latest security patches for doing so with the SAMBA share moduel.hmm can this OS connect using LAN to OS windows?
Fix your Hit & Runs.i can't download it please help me
Just a quick summary:
Installation via Ventoy is the easiest, safest, and quickest method.
Zorin 17 is NOT upgradable from Zorin 16.3. This has been the standard behavior for the past several versions.
But it is high time the creators/developers offer a straightforward Upgrade Path just as Windows 10 to Windows 11.
Zorin 17 is one of the cleanest and simplest Linux Distros that is EXTREMELY friendly and familiar to Windows OS Users.
The UI and several keyboard shortcuts work just as they do in Windows OS.
SAMBA
Samba is NOT Installed natively. However, it is extremely easy to install Samba Client (as well as Samba Server).
Open Terminal and use the following command:
1. sudo apt install Samba-client
2. Edit the Samba Configuration file to allow Samaba v1:
Command: sudo nano /etc/samba/smb.conf
The below line MUST be added directly under WORKGROUP (in Global]
client min protocol = NT1
3. Reboot
Now access the Samba server by opening File Explorer and typing the EXACT address of the server along with its NAME in the "Add Remote Connection"
smb://IPAddressofSambaServer/NameofSambaServer
OPTIONAL:
Update the firewall rules to allow Samba traffic:
sudo ufw allow samba
