Zero Assumption Recovery is a useful and comprehensive read-only data recovery utility that can recover all files, including the ones with long filenames or the files named with non-Latin characters. The software has three main features: it recovers images, data for Windows, Linux, and RAID schemes.
Image recovery allows users to get back lost digital images and videos from all types of mediums, like memory cards and USB thumb drives, but not limited to them. The second mode, "Data Recovery for Windows and Linux," can be used to recover data from FAT, NTFS Windows systems, and ext 2/3/4 or XFS Linux systems. Data can be retrieved from hard drives, disk image files, healthy RAID, and various partitions. Computer scanning is done quickly, and the resulting list is easy to interpret.
In the third and last mode, RAID Recovery permits the reconstruction of broken RAID 0, RAID 1+0, and RAID 5 arrays. Experienced users can access "Advanced configuration" to customize the way the app works. For example, the user can set a few details regarding the logging of each activity, choose the way the software processes the information on its disks and the filesystem analysis mode. Furthermore, the user can configure a few details regarding each method supported by the app.
The app supports various widely-spoken languages, such as English, German, and French. Zero Assumption Recovery is a useful tool when users have hard drive problems. The interface is practical and straightforward, so first-time users should not have problems finding out what the software can do.
- Recover files from Windows FAT, NTFS, and Linux ext2/3/4 volumes;
- Recover files from a formatted drive or "RAW filesystem";
- Recover files from External drives;
- Recover files from USB thumb drives and memory cards.
