TrackOff is a lightweight utility designed to protect user privacy from various digital fingerprinting techniques and mischievous trackers, help user stop the online tracking, whereabouts as well as other activities with a potential to gradually influence user daily life and decisions.
Following a quick and uneventful installation, a user is welcomed by a clean, modern and intuitive interface designed as a dashboard. The app provides a summary with the recent trackers detected, top tracking sites that user visited recently, tracking ID, browsing data and overall tracking score. As far as the browsing data is concerned, the user can check the Browser menu to ensure that all apps employ for surfing the web are protected. On a side note, the app protects by default for Internet Explorer, Opera and Edge, but a user needs to add a separate extension for Chrome and Firefox.
A further noteworthy feature is the Tracking ID protection, meaning a combination of data about the user web browser and user computer that can be used to identify and track web browsing uniquely. Put, the app shields user identity and private data from various fingerprinting techniques. More often than not, when a user is using standard browsers, everything that does is recorded, and this includes searches, uploads, downloads, visited pages along with the amount of time spent there. Private search enables the user to avoid the data mentioned above from being stored on all connected devices.
