I've seen the whiteout happen before too. Luckily it was easy to fix, though I don't have the build installed right now, I'll give you what I can remember, one of the steps from my 'databank' should fix you right up Mac!
In the taskbar tray, open the Settings for 'DesktopSnowOK' and try toggling '
activate / deactivate' and '
Only on desktop background' and also try right clicking the desktop and
restarting explorer. I can't remember exactly which one of those actions clears up the whiteout, but one of those steps should clear it up. Or just close DekstopSnow, and re-open it, or sign out and in again. etc.
Have fun playing with the settings!
but.. as you have said.. sometimes you
CAN have too much of a good thing!
Go to
Task Manager,
Startup Apps Tab, and disable '
clear.exe' followed by signing out to disable system transparency.
You can do this in any of my releases to toggle system transparency on or off indefinitely, according to your preference.
