Locked openwrt router

does anyone know how to create and use a proxy server for openwrt router, (if this is allowed within the rules)?

in rules it mentions "a public proxy or a vpn", i thought creating a private proxy for my personal router would exterminate my modem service restrictions

What you ask (I think) is the opposite of what you want. If you "run" proxy daemon on your router, others can connect and use YOUR PROXY and IP so whatever they do it will appear as if you are doing it if you don't secure it well. The only benefit you can possibly have is, if you are not at home you can use your own proxy to appear as if you are home and that's about it.

Btw for the admins, better move the tread to the right location and change Tags

yeah i might have misunderstood the functions of proxy, if youre reffering to HTTP Proxy and SOCKS Proxy

Think of proxy as the in-between.

Normally you connect to a site like this (simplistic):
[USER PC] <--->[Modem] <------------------------------------>[Site]

With a proxy you connect like this :
[USER PC] <--->[Modem] <------------->[Proxy]<----------------------->[Site]

So the proxy is a server, that you tell what site you want to visit and then it grabs the site for you, and that way the site doesn't see you but the proxy.

what you asked to do is
[USER PC] <--->[Modem and proxy] <------------------------------------>[Site]
so as you see not much difference compared to how you are now.

The above are oversimplified but I think you get the point. No worries, the admins took care of the right location and tag.
