just wanted to report back for anyone experiencing the same issue I was.
Snappy Driver is a great tool, it didn't solve my problem but I did get tons of newer drivers for pretty much everything, from lan to wireless, acpi, chipset and CPU firmware.
The issue I had didn't have anything to do with this release, which is outstanding btw, it was my laptop which for some reason has an unusual hardware id for my gtx 1650 and the nvidia driver didn't recognize it; perhaps it's some Acer shit. There IS a windows driver in the windows database for my device -thanks Snappy- and possibly a standard bloated version of windows would have installed it, but I rather have this lean, fast build without the spyware, ty very much.
I found the solution thanks to a youtube video. Simply adding the hardware id of my device to the correct .inf file after extracting the nvidia driver, and later disabling windows driver signature allowed the installation to proceed smoothly.
