A bit late with the thank you but whichever Staff member editied this thread for clarity and simplicity, it's kindly appreciated. Didn't stop to think we could've combined
the 2 threads into one. Will be more aware next time. Thank you again!
Thank you @Richard_dn good to know info. We only came across this article Monday and found the Task Scheduler option on several MS blogs. Will
definitely try this out.

good day, tested on my W11 im currently running W11 version 21h2 build 22000.434 opened around 25 folders with win+e ram usage on explorer ran usage went up to 345mb closed all of them but 1 and ram consumption by explorer stayed at 345mb ran EmptyStandbyList.exe but it did not fix the problem after running the program explorer was still consuming 345mb ram it only went down to 100mb after restarting explorer, also tested closing all of the explorer windows and ran the task on the task scheduler but the ram consumption did not go down the only thing that seems to work its restarting explorer.exe to clear that ram
I'm not even on Win11 but I need this. Thanks so much taking the time to post/explain
Can't rem why I wandered into this section yest but sure glad I did, blazed through all 14 pages real quick and got some good tips - can't wait to try them out
