MacPaw's CleanMyPC is a tune-up and maintenance utility that is designed to whip user computers back into tip-top condition after a fragmented hard drive, junk files, and registry issues slow system performance. The application includes a full-scale suite of cleaning tools for Windows computers. The newest version has several useful features that are worth checking out, including the ability to completely uninstall applications and manage browser extensions and plug-ins.
CleanMyPC is a lightweight app that downloads and installs quickly. Its attractive blue-and-white interface is simply designed; the left column—the sole method of navigation—houses the My Computer, Registry Maintenance, Uninstaller, Hibernation, Extensions, Autorun, Privacy, and Shredder icons. Together, these tools are designed to sniff out problem areas; free up hard drive space; safeguard user privacy by deleting its browser's cache, cookies, and history; select start-up applications; permanently delete files, and repair the registry.
The application reveals the amount of storage space users can expect its PC to reclaim when deleting various apps, redundant files, extensions, and plug-ins. In addition, CleanMyPC includes a useful uninstaller that gives an app a second pass during the deletion progress to remove leftover bits and extensions and plug-ins manager that lets user nix the browser-based extras he does not need. CleanMyPC delivers respectable performance improvement to PCs, and it also has a good variety of tools to improve user computing experience.
