> Description <
InControl controls the Windows automatic update/upgrade system and prevents your version of Windows from automatically updating. Microsoft loves to tailor feature updates to its OS and is increasingly pushing for users to finally upgrade to Windows 11 for free. However, since this isn't always desirable, you can prevent the upgrade using the free InControl program. This means, first of all, that the software will save the version of Windows you have chosen. However, you still receive monthly security updates. The tool is easy to use. There is a switch to manage updates. After that, Windows will no longer offer you feature updates. If you decide that you still want to get a new operating system, you can easily put control of updates back into Microsoft's hands with just one more click. When using InControl, you stay with the version of the operating system installed, even if Microsoft discontinues support for it. You must then manually install the feature update in a timely manner, otherwise there is a risk of security breaches.
Additional Information:
InControl is a small portable program with which you can prevent the Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating system from updating to new versions. The program is safe to use, as it does not change or delete the system files of the operating system, but only changes the registry entries associated with updates.
InControl is useful if you need to stay on a specific version of Windows and still get all the security updates. For example, if you're running Windows 10 version 20H1 and don't want to upgrade to version 21H2 or newer, InControl allows you to stop Windows from receiving feature updates in one click, while still receiving all other important updates.
Once launched, InControl shows the current update status. The message "OS upgrades are not under your control on this system" means that there is no control over system updates and they will be installed without permission. Clicking the "Take control" button will change the message to "You are in control of OS upgrades on this system" and after that, no new feature updates will be installed even if your version of Windows is no longer supported.
Also, using InControl, you can change the target version for updating by specifying the desired version of the system in the "Version" and "Release" fields, for example, "10" / "20H2". Using the InControl program is especially useful for system administrators,
