GiliSoft USB Lock is a straightforward and reliable data leak prevention tool that prevents leakage and copy of user data to USB Drives, External Drives, CDs/DVDs, floppy disks, and other or other such portable devices, as well as restrict access to specific websites and applications. Once installed, USB Lock lets users block all such drives and devices that do not belong to him. With USB Lock, users can share a PC with anyone without fear of data theft. The software is an easy USB Secure Software and robust Endpoint DLP Suite that helps the user to lock USB port, make DVD/cd burner read-only, block some websites, forbid some programs and disable more devices.
The program features several blocking modes built specifically for helping users disable the reading and writing operations for USB disks, DVDs, and CDs, and deactivate the floppy drive. Furthermore, users are allowed to restrict access to user-defined websites, import the list with URLs from WL files and export it to the same file format, prevent other users from changing the IP address, and disable the network adapter.
Other notable characteristics worth mentioning allow a user to disable the Task Manager, Registry Editor, and Remote Desktop Connection, restrict other users from running specific programs (EXE file format), as well as block the printer, modem, COM & LPT, as well as infrared, Bluetooth, and IEEE 1394 devices. GiliSoft USB Lock features a password protection system to make sure no other users can access or modify programs' settings, or uninstall it. Plus, user can provide details about email account for retrieving the password in case forget it.
Additionally, users can make the utility automatically send email notifications and ban the account for ten minutes if users enter the wrong password for more than five times. The application does not put much stress on CPU and memory, so the overall system performance is not hampered. GiliSoft USB Lock offers a complete suite of tools for helping users apply several security-related operations to user's removable devices, applications, and webpages.
