WinCatalog is an easy-to-use Software utility designed to catalog disks and files of pc. It allows you to find the desired file from your disk collection in few seconds, without even requiring a disk. The principle of operation is as follows: the program remembers all the files and folders that are stored on the disk, and then helps to find the right ones.
For a more complete presentation of information, the application scans and adds the contents of Zip archives to the catalog, extracts tags for mp3 and html files, and also receives information about Audio CD tracks via the Internet.
Various types of disks are supported: these are CDs and DVDs, floppy and hard disks, zip and jaz diskettes, network and removable disks, memory-sticks and any other storage media that Windows can access as disks.
The main advantage of the program is providing access to the contents of the disk located in the directory, even if the disk itself is not available: you can view the list of files and folders, view properties and descriptions, and search by various criteria. Each file, folder or disk located in the directory can be associated with a description describing the object and a set of keywords for a more accurate search.
In addition, the program has a built-in tool for creating a contact list, with which you can easily track which of your friends or acquaintances has a particular drive. Individual discs are marked with a special icon. You can also share your disk collection with friends. A flexible import system allows you to transfer information only about the desired part of the collection.
WinCalatog has an easy-to-use interface reminiscent of the "Explorer" and is recommended for work as novice users and professionals.
