VoodooShield is a reliable, proactive protection application which takes a different approach against viruses, malware and other threats for user computer. This intuitive software cannot remove infected files, but it can instantly block and protect user computer from being launched and getting infected. The software features smart options that allow it to automatically create a whitelist snapshot for all the programs and files that are always trusted.
Once the antivirus program has created a whitelist snapshot of the user system, VoodooShield can block the functionality of a computer, so that it does not allow any other software to run. In other words, the user may create a list of approved programs and set its computer only to run the specified software. However, the user may choose to allow additional programs through the protection wall.
VoodooShield is designed to run in the background at all times, but it displays a small shield icon on the desktop, which the user can quickly relocate to the desired position. The shield indicates whether or not the VoodooShield is active or not: red when the protection is OFF and blue when it is ON. Furthermore, dragging and dropping any file onto the shield, causes the software to scan the document for malware automatically. If the software blocks the data, it is automatically uploaded for detailed analysis, onto the cloud-based blacklist.
VoodooShield learns the user’s preferences concerning trusting the software. The learning process takes place as the software displays the red background and the OFF message. When the protection is activated, the software automatically takes a snapshot of the user system to determine which programs are trusted and block all others.
The three layers of protection include an application whitelisting lock, a machine learning/Ai decision engine and a multi-engine blacklist scan. The machine learning/Ai and multi-engine blacklist scanners automatically scan new and unknown executable files to ensure that malware is not accidentally allowed by the end-user.
The software features two protection modes: always ON and smart OFF mode.
ON Mode (Locked): User computer is locked and protected. When VoodooShield automatically toggles to ON Mode, it takes a snapshot of the currently running software, and automatically allows everything in this snapshot. VoodooShield also automatically allows presently installed software and specific critical Windows system files. Any software that was not permitted when VoodooShield was OFF is blocked.
OFF Mode (Unlocked): User computer is unlocked, and VoodooShield is learning which programs to allow so it will not block them once VoodooShield locks user computer. User can also change to this mode to install or enable additional software. The user computer is NOT protected in this mode.
