So, after installing this sent my antivirus into overdrive. It deleted the offending trojan which was trying to repeatedly reconnect to an off network server even though the VMware was not open.

vmware starts up, and works with no immediate issues, regardless of that "file" that was deleted.


***Update ***
I Downloaded an original version from VMWARE and used the included keys, No Trojan issues. For Safety i will recommend for others just to use the keys as the exe is SUS AF.

Ok i compared the exe installer to this other teamos release which is clean:

stopped installation, removed installer, used restore point, full AV scan, deleted suspected file form bin, crossed fingers, moved on.
Probably a fake alarm but better to be careful

I think we have shown its not clean, the only thing needed from it is the keys as VMware is not really locked and never has been.
