Scrivener is a nifty piece of software that combines all the tools used need to craft its manuscript, short novel, academics paper, screenplay or an elaborate journalistic article for submission or self-publishing, from nascent notion to final full stop. It is a content generation tool which enables a user to create a text-based document while having complete control over its layout and formatting.
Scrivener displays a user-friendly interface with an excellent looking design that is separated into two main components, the "Binder" and the "Editor." The first consists initially of three categories, "Draft," "Research," and "Trash," and they are used to store pages and content user needs for its work. The binder can be customized with new folders and allows a user to organize the pages of its document anyway see fit, and the user even gets a cork board on which to sort and preview the text.
Scrivener’s "Editor" offers the traditional means of creating a text file. The user gets to choose the font type, styling, size, alignment, and color. Everything about it respects the standard means of typing text content. However, Scrivener offers a series of tools that make it stand out from similar applications. User can create and customize an outliner and use it to keep track of its document’s metadata in one or more levels.
When creating a new file, Scrivener offers the possibility to use one if its many project templates. User can opt from fiction, non-fiction, scriptwriting and miscellaneous. Each of them comes with the appropriate document structure, and all user have to do is fill in the pages with text, tables, images, and anything the user wants. If a user project gets too complicated and is hard to follow content evolution, documentation, and other factors, Scrivener enables to create collections which user can easily manage and organize.
With the above to consider and much more to discover, Scrivener is genuinely an excellent content generator for all kinds of writers.

- "Scrivenings" mode temporarily combines individual documents into a single text, allowing a user to view and edit different sections of its manuscript in isolation or as a whole.
Corkboard:
- Virtual index cards store a synopsis for every document user create. Storyboard and rearrange project by moving cards around on the corkboard.
Outlining:
- A fully-featured outliner helps the user take control of the structure of its work. Use the outliner to plan first and write later, or write first and use the outliner to make sense of that messy first draft.
Scriptwriting:
- Switch to scriptwriting mode for automatic screen- or stage play formatting—or set up own script formats. User can even mix up script formatting with regular text for writing treatments.
Snapshots:
- Taking a "snapshot" of a document allows a user to edit and rewrite in the confidence that can restore an earlier revision at any time.

- Scrivener's licensing and activation system has been updated to work with our new e-commerce provider, Paddle.
