When I bought my logitech g432 i was given this plug/connector

I get better hertz when plugged straight in to my pc without this plug.\
Should I use this plugin? because im pretty sure im getting best quality this way?

You forgot to show your splitter cable and that is the one you should use with your PC.

So long story short if you check the 3.5 plug, it has 3 stripes that are used for the left channel, right channel, and mic. This is the format that is used with phones and gaming consoles. PC and other audio devices use the 2 stripes only (left/right audio) and so if you connect it straight to the PC it will work but the mic will not be detected. In order to have the mic you need the splitter.
The USB thing is a sound card and you need it in order to activate the DTS Headphone: X 2.0 or to enable the 7.1 surround from GHub software.

Assuming the USB is not damaged, the sound quality should be the same, you just probably have different setups as each sound card (mobo or USB) have its own settings including EQ and you will need to set them separately. Either that or... placebo effect

I think you need the G Hub software from Logitech itself. The one on your screenshot should affect only the onboard soundcard (Asus).
