Microsoft Office 365 is a line of subscription services offered by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft Office product line. The brand encompasses plans that allow the use of the Microsoft Office software suite over the life of the subscription, as well as cloud-based software as a service product for business environments, such as hosted Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, and SharePoint, among others. All Microsoft Office 365 plans include automatic updates to their respective software at no additional charge, as opposed to conventional licenses for these programs—where new versions require the purchase of a new license.

After a beta test that began in October 2010, Microsoft launched Office 365 on June 28, 2011, originally aimed at corporate users, as a successor to Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS). With the release of Microsoft Office 2013, Microsoft expanded Office 365 to include new plans aimed at different types of businesses, along with new plans aimed at general consumers, including benefits tailored towards Microsoft consumer services such as OneDrive (whose integration with Office was a major feature of the 2013 suite).

On April 21, 2020, the consumer and small business plans of Office 365 were renamed Microsoft 365, which emphasizes productivity features and services outside of the core Microsoft Office software suite. The Office 365 brand remains in use for plans catered towards enterprise markets.

In the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2017, Office 365 revenue overtook that of conventional license sales of Microsoft Office software for the first time.

The online installer setup of MS Office 365 (for both 32 bit and 64 bit systems) includes all known applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Access, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, 0utlook, and Publisher. Furthermore, a user automatically receives access for browser-based apps and Skype for Business. Simplified communication lets a user collaborate more effectively with other people.

Microsoft Bookings

• Microsoft Bookings is an online and mobile app for businesses that want to provide services to customers on an appointment basis. Examples of such businesses include hair salons, dental offices, spas, law firms, financial services providers, consultants, healthcare practitioners, educational institutions, and auto shops. Microsoft Bookings is available to customers in the U.S. and Canada who have Microsoft 365 for business subscriptions.

Microsoft Briefing email

• The Briefing email helps users make the most of each day by helping them:
  • Prepare for meetings by showing related tasks or relevant documents;
  • Manage tasks identified from an e m a i l that might be pending;
  • Make the most of focus time by booking time on the calendar and muting notifications.

Microsoft Power Automate

• Microsoft Power Automate allows a user to automate workflows across applications. Users can use Flow to connect email and IM alerts, synchronize files between applications, copy files from one service to another, collect data from one app, and store it in another, and more. Templates are available to get a user started.

Microsoft Forms

• Microsoft Forms allows a user to quickly and easily create custom quizzes, surveys, questionnaires, registrations, and more. When a user creates a quiz or form, a user can invite others to respond to it using any web browser, even on mobile devices. As results are submitted, users can use built-in analytics to evaluate responses. Forms data, such as quiz results, can be easily exported to Excel for additional analysis or grading.

Microsoft Graph API

• Use the Microsoft Graph API to quickly build apps that connect to a wealth of resources, relationships, and intelligence, all through a single endpoint. For example, a user can build custom dashboards, workflows, and apps that retrieve data for its organization.

Microsoft MyAnalytics

• MyAnalytics provides insights into two of the key factors in your personal productivity: how users spend its time and with him spend it. MyAnalytics takes a look at the user's everyday work patterns, finds areas that could benefit from the user's attention, and provides users with the tools to achieve more thoughtful use of its time.

Microsoft Planner

• Microsoft Planner is a tool that gives users a visual way to organize teamwork. Teams can create new plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, chat about what they are working on, set due dates, and update status. Microsoft Planner also offers the ability to associate documents with specific tasks, edit them together, and have conversations around tasks. The planner is not yet available in Office 365 Germany.

Microsoft PowerApps

• Microsoft PowerApps is an enterprise service that helps a user quickly build, integrate, and share apps that work on any device. PowerApps lets a user use built-in connections or those built by its company to connect user's app to cloud and on-premises services, including Microsoft 365 and Office 365, Dynamics CRM, OneDrive, SharePoint, SQL Server, Oracle databases, and more. Users can easily share PowerApps with coworkers by simply typing an email address.

Microsoft StaffHub

• Microsoft StaffHub is a cloud-based application that lets workers and their managers use their mobile devices to manage schedules and keep in touch. Employees can use StaffHub to request time off, trade shifts, and communicate with other employees. Employees can also send messages directly to each other or to the entire team. Managers can use StaffHub to send messages, create schedules, and send team news or company announcements. Microsoft Stream

• Microsoft Stream is an enterprise video service that people in the user's organization can use to upload, view, and share videos securely. Users can share recordings of classes, meetings, presentations, training sessions, or other videos that aid the user team's collaboration. Microsoft Stream also makes it easy to share comments on a video and tag time codes in comments and descriptions to refer to specific points in a video.

Microsoft Sway

• Microsoft Sway is a professional digital storytelling app for business that helps a user and its colleagues express ideas using an interactive, web-based canvas. Microsoft Sway's built-in design engine helps a user produce professional, visually-appealing reports, presentations, and more without the need for extensive formatting or additional training. Users can also modify the results to get the unique look and feel he wants. Microsoft Sway makes user's creation look great in any browser on any screen, and it can be shared with colleagues and customers by simply sending a link. Microsoft Sway helps a user find and pull together all sorts of content without leaving the app, so a user can drag and drop its images, text, videos, and charts right on to canvas. Microsoft Sway is not yet available in Office 365 Germany.

Microsoft Team

• Microsoft Teams is a chat-centered workspace that helps team members achieve more together. Microsoft Teams serves as a hub for teamwork, providing instant access to chat conversations, content, and tools into a single workspace. SharePoint and OneNote are built-in, and team members can work on Office documents right within the app. Aside from chats, Microsoft Teams also supports video calls and meetings to let teams meet live, whether on-demand or scheduled. Team members can easily collaborate with multiple teams and search across people, chats, and files anytime. Microsoft Teams works across Windows, Mac, web, Android, and iOS platforms. Microsoft Teams is not yet available in Office 365 Germany.

Office Delve

• Office Delve lets users search for and discover content across Microsoft 365 based on personalized insights. Delve is the first experience to be powered by Office Graph.

Microsoft 365 Groups

• Groups in Microsoft 365 connects users with the colleagues, information and applications they need to get more done together. Groups are open by default to enhance discoverability and sharing, but users can also create private groups for sensitive content.

Office 365 Video

• Office 365 Video is a secure, company-wide destination where a user can upload, share and discover videos across its devices—powered by Microsoft Azure Media Services. OneNote Class Notebook

• Class Notebook is part of OneNote and is available for Office 365 Education and Office 365 E5 Education. Each notebook includes a Content Library for teachers to share course content, a Collaboration Space where teachers and students can work together, and a private notebook for each student. After a Class Notebook is created, teachers and students can use the OneNote app to access it from any device.

Microsoft Kaizala

• Microsoft Kaizala is a simple and secure mobile work management app, bringing unique capabilities to Microsoft 365, with its ability to connect and engage people both inside and outside of an organization’s directory – including contract workers, vendors, partners, suppliers, customers, and citizens – using large and flexible group types. Kaizala’s open directory model enables phone number-based identity for easy onboarding and simple user experience for messaging and work management. The Kaizala mobile app lets users send instant messages and attachments such as pictures, documents, videos, audios, and more as well as use action cards for surveys, polls, job assignments, announcements, training and more. I really do not get it. No matter what I did: letters. images, gifs nothing helps always the same...

Because activation is only possible if you change the license type. More info about 365 licensing on a web...
The app still has 365 functionally. Take a closer look and you will see everywhere 365...
