Yes it will work.I am using the included Medicines for the latest version of Deep Freeze Standard (8.62) for my friend's PC and it works very well for months now.

how does this compare to Shadow Defender？？

In terms of activation,shadow defender is easier.Performance wise,i think they are pretty much the same.The only thing that i hate about deep freeze is that for some reason years ago (2018 i think),it didnt survived a network infection on my end related to smb cve virus.Isolating that infected unit by unplugging the LAN cable didnt fix the issue.While another unit with Shadow defender on it survived the infection.From then,i am using deep freeze with Malwarebytes Pro or Windows Defender.
