Defender should already be installed as was in mine when first got but deleted folders and other files to get rid, look in both program folders and should see the folder for defender other that try get a Re-download of files from microsoft or do scan with Powershell cmd to fix the files run this "sfc /scannow" if not turned on in settings to see if fixes it.
In case wondering i removed the Defender, Cortana, Edge and Internet Explorer as don't like them so have a version I use without these files in it.
