Built-in geometry editor:
ANSYS AIM integrates the technology of direct 3D geometry modeling ANSYS SpaceClaim, which
allows you to quickly create, edit and correct geometry. You can import and edit geometry from any
CAD system and quickly prepare it for the calculation.
Modeling technologies:
ANSYS AIM is based on ANSYS technologies applied at all stages of modeling. They provide an
opportunity to solve the problems of fluid and gas flow, dynamics and strength, thermal and
electromagnetic processes and to link all physical disciplines in calculation with each other.
Design and optimization:
ANSYS AIM includes optimization technology ANSYS DesignXplorer, which allows you to
investigate the response of the structure to the loads and conditions in the parameter space.
This helps to make well-grounded design decisions, reduce weight, carry out a detuning of the
structure from resonance.
Custom applications:
ANSYS AIM includes the maintenance of action logs, the creation of scripts in Python, as well as

Discovery Live

ANSYS Discovery live is a new interdisciplinary platform that allows engineers to virtually
instantly create virtual prototypes of their designs directly from solid-state models. The developers
of ANSYS have combined the experience gained in the process of creating advanced solvers, allowing
the use of graphics core graphics cards (GPU), direct geometric modeling (SpaceClaim) and some
additional things necessary for sampling. All this is integrated into ANSYS SpaceClaim and forms a
software product called ANSYS Discovery live.

Immediately after importing the geometric model into ANSYS Discovery live, youdetermine
what type of analysis you need to perform, specify the boundary conditions and ANSYS Discovery
live immediately starts the calculation and it all happens almost on the fly. Simplify the model,
build a grid, run the task on the account and display the results automatically. It may take a few
seconds to get the solution together and after that you will have a pretty good approximation that
will help you understand how your design works.

ANSYS Discovery live does not replace ANSYS Mechanical, FLUENT or HFSS. This tool allows
design engineers who have little experience in numerical modeling to perform a quick "what if ..."
analysis in the design process and explore a variety of options for evaluating
design performance .

The ANSYS product is unique in that it: 1) allows you to solve different physics using the GPU and 2)
is fully integrated into SpaceClaim, allowing you to perform direct geometric modeling. The third
and important point is that Discovery Live is an ANSYS product and this means that it will provide
technical support at a sufficiently high level.

Unlike classic ANSYS products, the simulation in Discovery Live takes much less time to explore
the model literally on the fly. This really changes the modeling, because now we can quickly change
the geometry of the model, the boundary conditions and understand how the design behaves at the beginning of the design process. Discovery SpaceClaim Discovery SpaceClaim is a 3D design tool that
turns computer modeling into a convenient and exciting process. Ease of use:

Discover the most convenient and easy-to-learn CAD tool. Discovery SpaceClaim allows you to
create and modify any 3D files with the speed of thought. You will be freed from the conventions
of traditional conceptual modeling and will be able to focus on the creative, rather than on the
technical component of the process.

Speed:
With Discovery SpaceClaim, you can create, modify, and recreate 3D-CAD or facet geometry.
Share your ideas with customers, development engineers, CAE analysts, team members
and manufacturers. Import and integrate any geometry (obtained from suppliers,
from the internal
library or online resources) into a single modeling environment.
Flexibility and versatility:
Regardless of the task of modeling or learning, the unique set of Discovery SpaceClaim
tools allows you to create approximate models, technical projects or to reduce 3D data
created in other CAD systems. The same tools will help you prepare models for
production, modeling and 3D printing, or recreate the facet / STL geometry for later use.

Minimum requirements for ANSYS Discovery software are as follows:
-64-bit Intel or AMD system, running Windows 7, 8 or 10.
-4 GB RAM (8 GB minimum for Discovery AIM)
-3 button mouse
-A dedicated graphics card with latest drivers and at least 1GB video RAM, capable of supporting
-OpenGL 4.5 and DirectX 9c, or higher. Use of integrated graphics (e.g. Intel HD/IRIS) is not
recommended. See below for special graphics requirements for ANSYS.
-At least 4GB of video RAM (8GB preferred) on the GPU.
A dedicated graphics card with the latest drivers and at least 1GB video RAM, capable of supporting
OpenGL 4.5 and DirectX 9c, or higher.

Use of integrated graphics (eg Intel HD / IRIS) is not recommended. See below for special
graphics requirements for ANSYS Discovery Live. ANSYS Discovery Live Graphics Requirements
ANSYS Discovery Live relies on the latest GPU CUDA technology (9.1 or later) to provide its
computation and visual experience. To run the software, you will require: A dedicated
NVIDIA GPU card (Quadro recommended) based on the Kepler, Maxwell or Pascal architecture with CUDA 9.1 (or later) drivers. Maxwell 2000 or better strongly
recommended. The most dedicated NVIDIA GPU cards produced
in 2013 or later will be based on one of these architectures.
