Hi @Mirkec,

Sorry to asking here.

I want to use Linux on my old laptop which has an Intel Celeron processor (1.70 MHz, 1.5 DDR2 RAM). I couldn't install even 7 home basic. Would you please suggest which Linux I should install?

I think Linux Mint is the most lite version! Zorin Ultimate LIte should suit you well too...
... but I think you need to upgrade you RAM because 1.5 is not so much

Thank @Mirkec for the reply.

DDR2 ram is very old now and I don't want to buy that old tech. I have the only option is to use my old laptop only. So, I also googled about Zorin Ultimate LIte and Linux Mint. I found about Zorin Lite os.

I want to use windows 10 but unable to do so. That's why I want to try Linux. Would you please pick one for me: Linux Mint or Zorin LIte?

Try both and see how would they react ... but what I found not so long ago is that Mint is liter then Zorin Ultimate. Do not know for Zorin Ultimate Lite
You can still use Windows 7 no matter support is the end! A lot of users are still dedicated to 7...
Also if you change your mind and decided to give another chance to Windows try 32-bit version it will consume significantly less RAM (Windows 8.1 is similar in RAM consumption as 7).

....What is the username and password

I think you have to choose it, maybe later it will help you better @Mirkec.

I share the info I read in the manual:

"Who are you?
In this part you must write your name, the name of your team and the username or account, in addition to the password to use. In case you don't want to put the password on every start, it is recommended to select log in automatically. "

What is the username and password
As soon as you go to the Zorin OS welcome screen, follow the steps given below:

  1. Select the language, and click the 'Try Zorin' button and open the live session.
  2. Check Zorin OS in the live session, and if you are ready to install, just click the 'Install Zorin OS' shortcut in the desktop screen.
  3. Select the language and proceed to the next step.
  4. Check to install third-party software.
  5. On the Installation Type screen, you can choose to erase the disk and install Zorin OS. (Note - This will erase all your data from the disk, you can also choose 'Something else' to create a separate partition for Zorin OS)
  6. Choose your location, timezone and more.
  7. Create a new user account (or root user): Type a new username and password.
  8. Wait until Zorin OS is installed.
  9. As soon as the process is complete, click on the 'Restart Now' button.
  10. Finally, login to Zorin OS and enjoy. Don't forget to remove the installation medium from the computer (eg, USB, CD / DVD).
TRY these steps and let me know if it worked for you or not
