Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate is a software available for both Mac & Windows that allows the user to convert existing video to a variety of other formats. This is ideal for someone who is looking to convert movies to a compatible format their iPod or mobile or even someone who just wants to compress their existing videos to save storage space on their hard drive.
The interface is really straight forward requiring user to just add video and choose an output to convert it to. The variety of output formats is also a huge advantage since it includes dozens of options such as ASF, AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, MP4, H.264/AVC, MKV, RM, SWF, MOV, XviD, 3GP, and FLV and many more. Besides literal changes to the file type user can choose more in-depth changes such as video size, video quality, and audio quality to further customize your desired output file.
A neat feature is that user can also do a small amount of editing within the program. Tasks like clipping, merging, or splitting a video file can be performed right within the program. Another cool feature is possibility to add effects like watermarks, subtitles, and soundtracks within the software. This is helpful and saves a step for people like me who add watermarks to my videos that I convert and upload to YouTube.
