If your using something like IDM , ''internet download manager'' then everything should be fine. I find downloading Large things without IDM can occasionally corrupt. A download manager helps alot.

Yup its normal each file hosting site is different, some allow 6+ connections. Since you are using IDM i am sure everything will be okay even with just 1 connection

It comes down to your internet connection speed and the file hosting site speed. I have had those speeds before as well, everything should be fine.

that is pretty slow i download at 1-3 mb per second

Anyway further guidance for torrent and direct download, remind this, Torrent data shared regarding their peers, it's a tracker sharing not direct. speed would be up and down anytime.
So it's nothing like that if yours connection is 13MB then torrent must give you exact.

If direct link then you may get all possible speed that allowed by hosting server. Example: if you're getting file through mediafire then each class have limited speed they allowed.

You're getting data by pieces so be bear it and wait.

Note: Don't forget to seed this torrent to make it alive for others. seed it after download long as you can and enjoy the bonus points and Ratio upgradation when data get shared to others when needed. Good luck!
