Tech News Windows 10 version 1909 (19H2) may start rolling out on November 12

Last week, the Windows Insider team announced that the Windows 10 November 2019 Update (or Windows 10 version 1909) had now been finalized. “We believe that Build 18363.418 is the final build and we will continue to improve the overall experience of 19H2 on customers’ PCs as part of our normal servicing cadence,” the team said at the time, without giving a proper release date for the November 2019 Update.

According to Zac Bowden from Windows Central, Microsoft could start rolling out the November 2019 Update on November 12, which will be next month’s Medicines Tuesday. This update will be more like a service pack for the May 2019 Update, and it will install on your PC like a regular cumulative update.

Some info on Windows dev/releases I’ve been hearing:

19H2 GA is targeted for Nov 12

1st Manganese build is expected at some point that same week for Skip Ahead users.

MS is hoping to have new Edge bundled with Windows in time for the 20H1 RTM

Windows 10X will RTM with 20H1

Bowden shared a couple more details about future Windows 10 updates as well as Windows 10X. According to him, Microsoft could ship the first preview build for the 20H2 update, codenamed Manganese, in mid-November. Microsoft should re-open the Skip Ahead Ring on this occasion, leaving Fast Ring testers and soon Slow Ring Insiders on the 20H1 bandwagon.

If Microsoft has yet to release a stable version of its new Chromium-based Edge browser, Bowden is also saying that the new browser should be ready to ship with the 20H1 update next Spring. “I think we’ll see a stable version of Edge launch standalone before 20H1 does,” he added in a separate tweet.

Lastly, Bowden suggested that Windows 10X, the new version of Windows that will ship on Microsoft’s dual-screen Surface Neo in holiday 2020, will also go RTM next Spring along with Windows 10 20H1. If true, this may well allow Lenovo, Asus, Dell, and HP to release their first Windows 10X devices ahead of Microsoft’s Surface Neo in Fall 2020.
