Windows 10 Debloater

Script/Utility/Application to debloat Windows 10

Windows 10

Scripts that will help you debloat your Windows 10:

WindowsSysPrepDebloater.ps1

The silent version now utilizes the switch parameters: -Sysprep, -Debloat -Privacy and -StopEdgePDF. The silent version can be useful for deploying MDT Images/sysprepping or any other way you deploy Windows 10. This will work to remove the bloatware during the deployment process.

Windows10Debloater.ps1

This interactive version is what it implies - a Windows10Debloater script with interactive prompts. This one should not be used for deployments that require a silent script with optional parameters. This script gives you choices with prompts as it runs so that you can make the choices of what the script does.

Windows10DebloaterGUI.ps1

There is now a GUI Application named Windows10DebloaterGUI.ps1 with buttons to perform all of the functions that the scripts do. This is better for the average user who does not want to work with code, or if you'd prefer to just see an application screen.

ALL three scripts are posted in the download links, but here I'll try to show you how to use the GUI version (easiest).
The other two scripts are described in the .txt file!

First Method:

1) Download the files and extract the .zip file to your desired location (for this instruction I've used "c:\"

2) Once extracted, right-click on the Start, open PowerShell (or PowerShell ISE) as an Administrator

tafwQ.png

3) Enable PowerShell execution
Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Force

ta225.png

4) On the prompt, change to the directory where you extracted the files:
(for this instructions - cd c:\)

5) Next, to run either script, enter in the following:
(for this instructions - .\Windows10DebloaterGUI.ps1)

taUVD.png

6) Choose what you want to do (or if you're unsure just click "Remove all bloatware") - list of removed bloatware in the spoiler below

taAem.png

7) Wait for the script to finish

taOZR.png

8) You can undo any changes by clicking on the "Revert" button

Second Method:

1) Download the files and extract the .zip file to your desired location

2) Right click the PowerShell file that you'd like to run and click on "Run With PowerShell"

truqE.png

3) This will allow the script to run without having to do the above steps but Powershell will ask if you're sure you want to run this script.

Remember this script NEEDS to be run as admin in order to function properly.

I've used the Debloater GUI on a Virtual W10 Pro (v1809) machine : ( disabling Windows defender )
First i removed Optionals Changes, disable Cortana and Telemetry to test the script.
- Selected the Remove All Bloatware Button then ...
- After 10/15 min depending machine, all tasks was finished.
- As the HD LED continued to blink during 10 mn I forced a reboot.
- Then Message "Preparing Windows, Don't Power off your machine , then Installing Update ...
- Rebooting to perform all Updates.
So prepare to spend a bunch of time using this tools.

Yes, of course, it depends on the machine and the stuff you want to remove. On my EliteBook it took little more than 5 min (REAL sytem, not VM, Win 10 Ent LTSC x64). If you check out (I think ) CHAOS win build (you can find it on this forum), it runs the similar debloat scripts after install and the author warns about patience...

@bobybrown

I was right it is Chaos10

"... Instructions

Ok now, read carefully from here. Install the windows normally as you do. After the windows is done installing, it will open a command prompt screen with a text "Requesting Administrator Premisisons", please CLICK YES on UAC PROMPT.
After that, just grab a coffee and relax because the script will take its time to do its magic. Ignore all the errors in RED because they are completely normal.

Hi,

"Exe" version:

MediaFire:

"Dangerous File Blocked

The file has been determined to be dangerous. For your protection, MediaFire does not enable the distribution of dangerous files.

Still have questions, or think we've made a mistake? Please contact support for further assistance. "

No problems for the rest ("exe" version or not)

Have a nice day ;)

Yeah. MediaFire is a little bit paranoid, 'cause the script changes and removes windows services... It probably thinks it's dome sort of a virus. It's not... BTW, I always test my downloads before posting a thread, it worked then. They must have detected it later... I'm typing on a phone, not near a computer, I'll remove the link to MediaFire tommorow evenig.
Or, @Mirkec do you have time? I'd appreciate it. Thank you and thanks to @kde1209 for noticing!

Hi! Of course I'll edit the thread and give you thanks (I will also mention Chris Titus), but I can't post the link to Github 'cause it's against the rules... Sorry... Appreciate your work!

@sycnex Actually I'll ask some admin if I can post a section with a link... We'll see what they say...
