I couldn't install it on Windows 10 pro 2004 version latest build agost 2020.

I tried to download it from the official site and I can't install it either. This version is not compatible with my OS.

Tho its an old trick, you lose nothing for trying. Disable the internet (either disable the network card/wifi adapter or pull the cable even) and try to install it. After finishing install, reconnect your internet. The reason is that in some cases, the installation program tries to reach an endpoint that doesn't exist anymore and in some windows, it creates a crash. Additionally, try compatibility mode? Maybe it will help.

I believe also that if you make a copy of the Utorrent folder from another PC that Utorrent is working, it will work fine on your PC too.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me, I'm back to the latest version now.
With the negative consequence that my torrents do not recognize them and I have to download one by one to seed them.
As they have other seeds I will not seed them again.
I will only seed the new ones that I upload from today and NEVER more torrent client change.

So, I tried to install but i got the same error message. The error persist even after I turn off firewall, and disconnect from internet and ran as admin. However, I notice there's a dump file created, so I went and took a look.

So the dump file can be found in "C:\Users\[yourPCname]\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent", and in the dump file, theres nothing much special, just a stating a couple of stuff the installer has no access to. But the interesting part is that in that particular parent folder, there exist much more files, including some leftover utorrent files from earlier installation.

So in light of that, i turned off my internet, rebooted my pc, went back to delete the entire utorrent folder (need to delete after reboot because windows wont let me beforehand, saying the folder is in use), turn off firewall, re-unzip the downlaoded installer file and ran as admin. It then worked like a charm.
