I knew someone will get triggered a little bit but ok, I admit, not everything but the 2 programs I download most are both coming positive on windows defender recently which was not the case before. IDM and Revo.

I don't think the mod is incorrect here. And they simply gave you and article explaining false positives. If that's being triggered I am afraid that if anyone tries to prove that these files are virus free is gonna sound triggered to you.
Also, even the word "overstatement" is not enough for you saying "everything" for just 2 programs. The people of this site have the right to get defensive when you make such false and over-dramatic statements.

Windows defender is not a great program, and has a pretty good false positive count. I use a lot of genuine niche software and it sometimes reports even them as threats. You should not put too much faith onto such warnings.
