DiffPDF is a slim and lightweight piece of software that allows a user to compare two different versions of the same or two related PDF documents. Comparisons can be made with three different comparison modes when it comes to the words, characters, or based on appearance (which accounts for fonts, colors, layout, diagrams, images, etc.). It can be seamlessly handled, even by users with less or no experience in such apps.

As installation is not a prerequisite, a user can drop the program files on any location of the hard drive and run the executable file directly. Furthermore, a user may also save DiffPDF to a USB flash drive or similar external device and run it on any computer. Concerning the operating system, no items are left behind in the Windows Registry (reducing the risk of system crashes) or on the hard drive after removing the application.

Differences between the two PDF items can be noticed by viewing their content, since they are highlighted in red, according to the comparison type of user choice. Also, a user can zoom in and out, exclude margins from the comparison, view log details, as well as set up separate zones in the layout (e.g., number of columns, tolerance). Furthermore, a user can hide the tooltips in the main application window, change the default base color, outline and fill color for the highlighting, as well as specify the square and cache sizes.

Added support for making appearance mode comparisons with the "new" renderer. In some rare cases, the "old" renderer does not detect some gradient fill differences—but the new renderer does.

What is new in version 5.8.3 (Released on April 17, 2018):

This version will work with a free trial and full licenses as usual and also will work with site licenses.

System requirements:
OS: Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 & 10 (32 & 64-bit);
CPU: at least 2GHz and at least two cores;
The minimum screen size for practical use is 1024 × 800, but the size of 1920 × 1080 or better is recommended.
