Can anyone help me, I have absolutely no idea why, but despite it obviously being in the location (I checked) every time I go to start up the program it errors out saying it cannot find mbam file in program files, despite me literally launching from that location.

Maybe someone else can help! I never experienced your situation! The installer is official one so it works properly 100%!
Just as a thought food - to consider by yourself:
1. Did you try the portable version? What happens?
2. Do you use a custom OS?
3. Try to reinstall! Uninstall and delete all leftovers completely!
4. Is it a clean install your OS? What apps do you use before?
For me, it seems like an OS issue! I do not know

This has been my thinking. It's an enterprise windows with Blackbird applied and lots of telemetry cleaning with no windows apps etc.. Not new by any stretch of the imagination as I installed in February because I'm happy with my set up now. My guess is it's an OS issue. So strange because it makes no sense, I'm going to run a malware check with Webroot and Symentec in safemode to see if this helps.

Thank you so much for your reply and this program, you guys are the real mvp's :)

I thought I'd update with my findings in case it may help others in the future. I, eventually after a few hours of researching found that the problem was, in fact, to do with malware before originally scanning had infected my computer with registry entries which were preventing pretty much any antivirus software to run by hijacking the .exe executable. This was done by creating an undeletable registry entry in the Image File Execution thread of the registry.

To rid me of this was impossible during boot due to it tying itself with the OS. So I had to delete the startup Hijacks using a great freeware application called AutoRuns which gives you a huge comprehensive list of everything that starts up and it's associated registry thread. Simply delete the autorun entries then reboot. After that, I was free to delete all entries and everything loaded perfectly then :D

Just thought I'd put up my experience as it may affect others, and I imagine this could happen with any file type too.
