Firstly, I want to say thank you for all the people who tried to assist me in, completing my mission to get my two (2) HDD's fixed and one of my USB sticks.

It came to my attention, that I was misunderstood by my posting. Therefore I'm apologising. To those of the staff that felt I offended them, by my posting in the chat, whereby it was stated to me, "this is a chat forum, not a Help line" . I also apologised to.

I guess my mind got the better of me, when I realized I might have lost all my important information on my HDD'S and my USB stick. I sincerely apologises to whoever, might have felt offended, and for my mistakes I have made.

If I'm allowed to, I would deeply appreciate it, if I can clarify what the problem is, that I'm facing.

Please note, I will not use date and time as of presence.

I have a computer box, that have two (2) HDD'S in them, namely a 1.5TB (1500MB) Barracuda, and a Toshiba 1TB (1000MB).

I ran my operating system (Windows 7) from the Toshiba and I was going to use the Barracuda HDD to store my movies, music, software, games etc.

All my movies, games, software and music was still present on my Toshiba. What I did to re-install my operating system, was to move my music, software, games and movies to the Barracuda. (It's obvious, so that I don't loose anything, and can then restore some of the games, music, software and movies, back onto the Toshiba, after the re-install).

The procedure that I used, was the "Cut and Copy" Cut from the Toshiba, and Paste on the Barracuda.

So I went on to Formatting the Toshiba, and did a clean install of Windows 7. I noticed after the installation of windows, the Barracuda HDD, didn't pick up or installed itself. I took The Barracuda out of my box (tower) and tried every method possible, to get the drive spinning again. It eventually ended up to no success at all.

What I want to know is: After I have done the "cut" of my software, music, movies and games, and "pasted" it to the Barracuda, is there any change of me getting the movies, music, software and games back on my Toshiba as before I "cut" it and "pasted" it to the Barracuda?

I'm sorry if I wasn't more clear on my posting.
I would deeply appreciated it if someone can assist me.

Thanks to all the members of Teamos, for the wonderful work you do. I'm not here to waste your time.

Regards
Jason

If you did not format Barracuda and if you have correctly moved the content, there is a chance to find the files. You should install Windows (on hdd Barracuda) on it and find what you are looking for. If you do not find it then you are mistaken with copy / paste.
There is a possibility that the hdd Barracuda is defective, maybe!

Ok.. For last time and in a few words Listen here.. If Barracuda is dead you cant recovery anything so disconnect it or whatever and forget about it for ever.

Now for third time I give you these software links to try on your Toshiba HDD.. Dont expect 100% recovery ever..
If I was you and the data is so important I would find help/technician where you are.. If not then start
over and stop making mistakes.. Your Cut and Paste sounds ridiculous for transferring data.. Jesus..
At least Copy and Paste would be better and then you wouldnt of screwed everything up.. Better yet use
the Windows Built in Tranfer deal .. Man I dont no..

3.

OR Look and decide here>>>

One last thing to mention.. Find another PC to test your Barracuda Drive on to make sure its DEAD.. A friends machine or a PC doctor in your location..

"The cut-paste logic works only in the same partition."

@jason30
Think of it this way. If folders are people and files are the clothes they are wearing, then cut and paste is just giving your shirt to another person, whereas copy paste is actually sewing a new shirt for your friend (another folder).
"This is a very important difference!"

All I really wanted to know, was, is it possible (with software obvious) to retrieve what I have cut and formatted from the Toshiba HDD, since my Barracuda HDD isn't working? :)

I gave the answer, the essence of the problem is resolved! "You did not save data on Barracuda hdd!" You need to use recovery programs on Toshiba hdd. "

You got a tower box? right...you got 2 HDD's in your tower connected. You boot windows, (say for example) the Toshiba was my windows operating system right. The second HDD is just there for example if I get new stuff (movies music) I throw it onto the Barracuda HDD, so that my Toshiba never fills up, right. I wanted to reinstall my operating system on the Toshiba drive (where it was presently) so I had some movies, and music, software I didn't want to loose on the Toshiba.

So I cut the software, music, movies, and I pasted it onto the barracuda HDD. Now the Barracuda isn't working, and I wanted to know, can I retrieve my music, movies, software, back on my Toshiba HDD, cause I formatted my Toshiba HDD, and then re-installed windows onto the Toshiba?
